Obituary | 27 September 2018 | His Obituary on 27 September 2018 in Cordova, Shelby, Tennessee, United StatesBG. Edward Joyce Moriarty, III Cordova Edward J. Moriarty III, of Memphis, TN, passed away on September 20, 2018 in Cordova, TN at 69 years of age. Eddie was born in Memphis to Edward Moriarty Jr. and Avis Windham on August 5, 1949. He graduated from high school in Florida. In 1978, he started his own business, Moriarty Heating. He fathered four children -Michael Edward, James Edward , Lauren Lynn and Mary Catherine, which he loved more than anything and he made sure they never wanted for anything. Eddie, who was affectionately known as Buddy, by his immediate family, was known by his many friends and the people he worked with as a charismatic man and a hard worker; one who was willing to sacrifice of himself for others and one with an incurable sweet tooth. He was, at one time, a member of the Bluff City Canoe Club, and taught canoeing classes on the Black River in Arkansas. Eddie is preceded in death by his mother, Avis Windham; son, Michael; sister Mary Catherine, and his favorite maternal grandmother, Della "Gog" Windham, who helped raise him. He is survived by his wife, Dung Nguyen; son, James Edward (Melissa); daughter, Lauren Lynn; youngest daughter, Mary Catherine; grandson, James Dean, and neice, Allyson Johnson. Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28 at Family Funeral Care, located at 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 29 at Family Funeral Care with Jason Bedell, pastor of Faith Vietnamese Baptist Church, officiating the service. Burial will follow on Monday in Laurel, Miss. at Rushton Cemetery. The family of Eddie wishes to extend its sincere thanks to Pastor Jason Bedell and the many members of the community who came together to support them in their loss.
