Another Captain and Lieutenant in this same battalion were Thomas Hamilton (commissioned Captain 16 May 1758, son of Hance Hamilton), and Victor King (commissioned Lieutenant 6 May 1758, brother-in-law of Alexander and Hugh McCain). The date of Alexander McCain’s enlistment means that he was a part of General John Forbes’ combined expedition to Fort Duquesne.2 |
