Will | 27 January 1772 | He signed a will on 27 January 1772 in York, Pennsylvania, United StatesBG. “IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I Hance Hamilton of Manalan Township County of York and Province of Pennsylvania being weak of Body but of Sound and Distinguishing Mind and Memory Do this Twenty seventh day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Seventy two Make this my last Will & Testament in the manner following that is to say, I Principally Recommend My Soul to the Almighty God & my Body to the Earth to be intered in a Desent Christian Manner at the Discreation of my Executors and as for Such Wordly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this to witt I Will and Order that my funeral & Expenses & Just Debts be all paid. I also Order that my Personal Estate be Sold by Publick Vendue or Otherwise as my Executors see proper. I also Order that all my Lands & Real Estate to be sold by my said Executors in what manner they shall see proper and at any time not Exceeding two years & then the money Arising from said sales I will and Dispose of as followes. “I Give to my son Thomas Hamilton the sum of twenty Pounds Lawfull money of Pennsylvania to be paid Out of the money Arising from the sale of the Lands together with my Silver Mounted pistles, I Give to Alexander McKeen & Sarah his wife she the said Sarah being one of my Daughters the sum of forty Pounds to be paid Out of the money Arising from the sale of Lands. I give to Hugh McKeen & Mary his wife the said Mary being another of my Daughters the sum of Forty Pounds to be paid Out of Money arising from the sale of the Lands. I Give to my son Hance Hamilton the sum of Five Pounds also my Silver handled sword, Brass mounted pistles & Silver Meddel. I Give to my son Guain Hamilton the sum of Two Hundred pounds Out of the money arrising out of the sale of the Land, also my saddle and my Bridle and my Silver snuff Box. I Give to my son George Hamilton the sum of One hundred & thirty Pounds also my long Gun to be paid Out of the money arising from the sale of the Lands. I Give to my son John Hamilton the sum One hundred and fifty Pounds to be paid out of the money arising from the sales of the Land as also my Black Stallion. I Give to my two Youngest sones William Hamilton & James Hamilton Each the Sum of three Hundred Pounds to be paid to them out of the Last Money Arising from the sale of the Lands if so much Remains after the former payments and Legecys are Discharged & if after the Same be Discharged any Overpluss should Remain then I order that the same be Equally Distributed among my Children. I Give to Mary Hamilton, Thomas Hamiltons wife, my Roaned mare & I do make Constitute and appoint my Brother John Hamilton, Robert McPherson Esq., and Samuel Edie Esq Sole Executors of this my last will and Testament. I do Revoke all former Wills by me made and do Publish Pronounces Testify and Declare this and none Other to be my last will & Testament.
