Frances Elizabeth Collinson, 99, of Chesapeake Beach, MD died April 20, 2009 at Calvert County Nursing Center in Prince Frederick. Frances was born April 29, 1909 in Norfolk, VA, the daughter of Thomas Scott and Estelle (Birkhead) Bagby and was educated in Norfolk public schools.

She married Thomas C. Collinson in 1932 and they moved to their farm in West River, MD known as "The Cedars." They resided there until the death of her husband in 1954 when Mrs. Collinson moved to Annapolis, MD. She was employed as an underwriter for Nationwide Insurance until her retirement in 1972.

After retirement she resided with her son in Lothian, and since 1999 in Chesapeake Beach. She was a member of Friendship Community Baptist Church and the Annapolis Choral Society. Mrs. Collinson sang in many Annapolis area churches. In addition to music and church activies, Mrs. Collinson's grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her main enjoyment.

She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas S. and Estelle Bagby, her husband Thomas C. Collinson and a son Thomas Clyde Collinson, Jr.

She is survived by a son Francis Bagby Collinson and his wife Gloria of Chesapeake Beach, MD, grandchildren Scott Collinson, Sherri Swanson and Michael Collinson all of Chesapeake Beach, and Thomas, Barbara and William Collinson, all of Harwood. Also surviving are eighteen great-grandchildren.
