Jesse, served both in the State Militia & on “The Committee of Safety.” Several of the other brothers are recorded as having furnished supplies to the American Forces &and a number of their sons served in the VA Militia.

Jesse was among the first volunteers, enlisting 17 October 1775 under Captain Joseph Carrington in ”The Minute Men”Amelia District, Cumberland County.

Jesse is listed in the DAR Patriot Index published in 1966. There are several descendants of Jesse Meador in the DAR, on his record.3,4
