AnecdoteJAMES MEADOR owned 300 acres of land in Buckingham County, Virginia on Crooked Creek, ten miles north east of the Court House. He appeared on Buckingham County tax rolls as early as 1821, but was listed as a resident of Cumberland County until around 1835. After 1835 he was listed as a resident of Buckingham County.1
AnecdoteJAMES and his wife FRANCES apparently lived with his mother MARTHA, and cared for her until her death in Cumberland County in 1832.1
AnecdoteThey lived in the Oak Forest area of Cumberland County, and later moved to Buckingham County, near Gravel Hill.3
