Land Purchased1714He bought land in 1714 at tract N64, just south ofBG, in Marionville, Northampton, Virginia, United StatesBGO. [COLOR:70,70,70,255,255,255]In 1711 John Beloat sold 100 acres of this tract to Henry Williams and three years later he resold to Richard Carvey. In 1734 he left to daughter Mary Scott for life and then to my son-in-law Salathiel Harrison. In 1778 Salathiel (wife Ann) left to his son Thomas, with James and Catharine next in line if Thomas failed of issue. The next link could no be found, but a later owner of record was a William Harrison and in 1808 he left to his wife Ann and then to their chidren. (NOTE: A Nov 1761 court case found in N'hamp Co Loose Papers Vol 4, p. 16 shows Salathiel Harrison was a son of Mary Scott (not a son-in-law as shown in the will) and the 1778 will of Salathiel Harrison was contested by William Harrison, the heir-at-law who evidenlty actually inherited the land.).1

Dell (minister) asks clerk to grant Richard a license and place fee to Dell's account.2

Mary Scott the plantation whereon she now lives which I bought of Henry Williams during her life, and then to my son in law Salathiel Harrison and for want of his heirs to my granddau. Mary Harrison. To my dau. Margaret Billings. To my dau. Ursley Bell the tract of land bought of George Harmanson and my wife's chest. To grandsons Abraham and Isaac Jacob misc. items when Abraham is 18. My dau. Anne Dunton resid. legatee. My son in law Rickard Dunton extr. Matthew Harmanson and Jonathan Stott, Sr. to oversee. Witt: Jonathan Stott, Jacob Waterfield, Elias Dunton.3
